.Academics: There isn't a better place to be to study sports management because of all the opportunity in the area as well as the opportunity on campus with our massive sports program. The professors are all awesome with experience and advice, and they do help hook you up with internships and jobs in the area and across the country. Workload not bad, facilities are though. They need to replace the damned Merrick building.
.Academics: This is the best school in the state of Florida and one of the best in the southeast. We're a destination school for students and professors alike because of our highly-touted academics, and across the board we have some terrific departments. On the whole it's a very good school; this isn't Suntan U anymore.
.Academics: My specific major has a lot of great aspects to it. There are clubs you can join to further your education.
.Majors: I am in the Arts and Sciences school, which is the largest college on campus. The admissions process is straightforward, and academics play a big role.
.Majors: I have not had an internship yet, but I plan to. It is required for my major, but I also truly want to. I think the best way to learn is to really get out there in the field. I have little to no concerns about finding an internship, because it seems UM prepares us very well and nearly everyone gets what they want. Currently, I professionally play my flute in hospitals and clinical centers.
.Majors: Getting in to my program was no more difficult than getting into the school itself.
.Diversity: When it comes to diversity UM is second to none.
.Diversity: The diversity at UM is probably one of my favorite things about the university. Everyone is free to be themselves with no judgement.
.Administration: Every instance in which I have had to consult administration has been simply and easily handled. I have had no complaints.
.Administration: They are very lenient about some things that other schools are too strict about- as long as you take care of yourself the you have a lot of freedom to do what you want.
.Campus Food: There are a variety of places to eat and its all so delicious.
.Campus Food: I really love the food somedays and other days I avoid the food altogether. I'm pretty sure this happens everywhere though.
.Guys & Girls: Because UM is so diverse, you have every kind of stereotype known to man: geeky, sporty, stuck-up, loud, funny, goofy, smart, friendly, hardworking, I mean the list goes on. No matter who you are, there is a place for you at UM.
.Local Area: We have a metro stop right across the street from campus with direct routes to two malls, Vizcaya Museum, and Coconut Grove where a lot of the nightlife takes place.
.Athletics: Football season is a huge highlight of UM, with many students tailgating at and attending the home games at Sun Life Stadium. This isn't surprising considering the history of the Miami Hurricanes as a great team, despite a fall from glory after the 1980's. A lot of people also like to participate in club and IM sports, and there is a wide variety of sports to choose from.
.Health & Safety: I feel safe, but there have been some scary moments. We have had a dorm lockdown because of a theif, and there is no doubt that there are some scary individuals on campus. But for the most part, the school is a very safe environment, and I personally had not felt threatened.
.Local Area: I love the area the school is located in. About a minute from Sunset, about 5 minutes from Coconut Grove, about 15 from downtown Miami, and about 20 minutes from South Beach, I think the University of Miami is perfectly located. It doesn't take much effort to get to any of these places, and there is tons to do. There's the beach, there are Miami Heat games, there are bars and clubs, great food options, a movie theater, and year-round events that Miami hosts. One of the best college atmospheres in my opinion.
.Overall Experience: There are a lot of great resources at the University of Miami for students to use, and one of the best ones is the career center we have on campus. The people there put a lot of effort into helping students find internship opportunities nearby as well as places to consider starting a career for when students graduate.
.Greek Life: I don't have any issues with the Greek life at my school. I know a lot of people have a negative view towards them, as they think they might be cliquey or arrogant, but many of my friends are in numerous different fraternities, so I don't always share that same opinion. There are scenarios where some fraternities do things to make them be seen in a negative light, but for the most part, they're just like normal students, and many of the brothers within those fraternities seem to benefit from them.
.Majors: It's awesome knowing that I am at one of the best music schools in the country with some of the best faculty on any college campus. All the ensembles and students are very talented. The only thing I wish was different about the music school is that they would allow more lenience as far as taking the classes goes. I wish they would allow a student more freedom with the required classes he has to take. I understand that the school wants its students to be very well-rounded, but there are some classes that aren't very relevant to some music students and it takes away time for them to take other classes they may be interested in.
